The Campaign was established on October 7th 1986 to support the Sandinista Revolution. When the Revolution came to an end in 1990 the Wales NSC continued to support the Nicaraguan peoples desire for a better life in circumstances just as hard as during the Civil War of the 1980’s.

We continue our links with trade unions, grassroots activists, campaigners and community groups. They struggle daily against the effects of neo-liberal globalisation, privatisation, free trade agreements and huge infrastructure projects which make the rich richer and offer nothing to the poor.

We also have links with Nicaragua’s Caribbean coast where indigenous people are fighting to hang on to their languages and land.
